Vernon Lever qualified as a Podiatrist in December 1981. He studied Podiatry through theTechnikon Witwatersrand in Johannesburg SA.

OUR HISTORY:

– 1982, Private practice opened

Vernon started up his own private practice in January of 1982, and commenced practice in Bedfordview Johannesburg. Vernon completed a postgraduate two-year BSc.Honours degree in Podiatric studies through the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom.

– 1984, Consulting expansion

Vernon expanded his private practice to include consulting from Benoni on the East Rand. Vernon joined the South African Podiatry Association in 1982, and was elected as National Treasurer of SAPA in 1984. Vernon was the National Treasurer for 20 years, as well as serving on the National Executive of SAPA.

– 1996, African Medical & Dental Council

In 1996 Vernon was elected to sit on the old South African Medical & Dental Council as the Podiatric representative for the Podiatry profession. In 1998 he was elected to serve on the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) on the board for Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Biokinetics.

I can live to run my next Comrades marathon
    

I am a comrades runner, and had been suffering from chronic Achillies tendonitis for over a year. I tried all modalities, Physio, stretching, anti-inflammatries, all to no avail. After consulting with Lever & Amler Podiatrists, they diagnosed my problem and with an orthotic got rid of my nagging painful Achillies problem. Wow, you guys were so professional
    

I had a nagging problem with my left big toe-nail. The toe was very painful to the touch, and it was red and swollen just on the one side. My cousin had told me about these Podiatrists situated in Bedfordview, called Lever & Amler, so I set up an appointment. Wow, you guys were so professional, and never hurt me once (I am a baby when it comes to pain). Thanks so much for sorting out my foot, I can even dance and jump on it now.

After having had a total knee replacement, I started walking with a distinct limp, and found the opposite knee was now starting to hurt. My Orthopaedic surgeon referred me to the Podiatrist, who found that I had one leg shorter than the other. The equipment and computer technology that the Podiatrist used during the examination was like out of a science fiction movie. He gave me insert to wear in my shoes, and within a few days my other knee was feeling 100%, and my limp disappeared. Thanks for all your help, it has changed my life.

I have been a patient of Lever & Amler Podiatrists for over 20 years. When I first sought treatment I was in my late teens and experiencing great pain in my feet. It was to the point that I was developing bunions, which I would periodically knock as I walked, to much discomfort. Dr. Lever diagnosed my condition and created for me custom orthotics which very quickly corrected the issues I was experiencing. I return to see Dr. Lever every 5 to 6 years even though the quality orthotics I receive seem to have a lifespan much longer... even longer that ones I have purchased in the USA. The last time I was in the offices for a consultation, I was amazed with the cutting edge technology in use. Their new digital CAD system gathers precise measurements which are then fed into a state of the art CNC machine to create the high-end orthotics right their onsite. Excellent service, top notch quality, and no more pain.
